The Hospice Ball began its
goodwill 29 years ago to support hospice care in Missoula, and has transformed
into a thriving nonprofit: the Hospice Care Foundation. Working diligently to
raise funds, the HCF has been very successful in supporting end of life care
for the Missoula community. Throughout the years, the HCF has
donated financial assistance to both hospice programs in Missoula. This
assistance has provided relief to patients who had no financial resources, did
not qualify for Medicare, or perhaps needed extensive care or medications they
could not afford. Through their dynamic fundraising efforts, the
foundation has been dedicated to ensuring that hospice care is available to
everyone in our Missoula community.
As the needs of our community
have grown and changed, so has the vision of the Hospice Care Foundation.
When the local hospice house on Mullen Road closed its doors in September 1999,
there was a community wide whimper for help. In 2006 the Hospice
Care Foundation renewed its mission statement to directly reflect the needs of
their community: to Build and Sustain a Hospice House in Missoula.
Come celebrate one of the
oldest Missoula traditions in giving, and attend the 29th Annual
Hospice Ball. You too, can help make the dream of a Hospice House in
Missoula come alive!
